WebAug 27, 2014 · Bismuth is a fantastic semimetal with highly anisotropic Fermi surface, which leads to a series of unique electrical features, such as small effective electron mass, low carrier density, long carrier mean free path, etc [1–3]. WebThe results show that bismuth nanoparticles are more toxic than most previously reported bismuth compounds. Concentration dependent cytotoxicities have been observed for bismuth nanoparticles and surface modified bismuth nanoparticles. The bismuth nanoparticles are non-toxic at concentration of 0.5 nM.
