I have a Yaesu VX6 that I use for accessing some UHF repeaters and have noticed that the CTCSS tone is not stable, we mainly use 141.3Hz but when pressing the PTT the radio will sometimes send the correct tone but will also send 146.2 & 136.5 only seems to occur on UHF (if I select a lower tone same thing … WebAnd my buddy down town says his Yaesu car radio also triggers perfecly with my CTCSS tone. A couple of repeaters up to 70km away also trigger nicely with my new signal. But our local repeater doesn't. I've got our local ham repeater just 1.5km up the street, with line of sight from my antenna. But that one doesn't trigger with my tone.
